Veggies with a Kick!

 

Whether you’ve gone camping or are enjoying a day out in the yard, these veggies are full of good nutrients that your body needs to function at its best capability. The veggies below, among many others will fight to keep cholesterol and blood pressure low, strokes away, and heart disease out of the picture. Below you’ll find some veggies that are not only extremely beneficial for your body, but also great with your favorite seasoning on a grill!

1. Zucchini

Although zucchini has a variety of health benefits, it is best known for its ability to aid in lowering cholesterol, weight management, improving cardiovascular health, and preventing cancer. Consuming zucchini also increases your daily intake of dietary fiber as well as helps support your muscle function.

2. Tomatoes

Tomatoes are a great source of Vitamins A, C, K, B6, potassium, fiber, magnesium, and phosphorus among many other things. They are also a great low-sodium, low-cholesterol alternative to many other high sugar foods. For those concerned about weight, they are what we like to say, a water fruit – making them perfect for snacking on.

 3. Onions

Onions have a way of making us teary eyed – however, they do so while encouraging the productions of good cholesterol in your body, keeping your heart healthy while also playing a major role in the prevention of cancer. Slice em thin, add lemon juice and salt, and roast away! It’s a delicious treat thats great for your organs!

 

4. Eggplant

The eggplant does not get enough credit. This veggie is delicious when paired with the right seasonings and it does wonders for your brain and your blood. They contain beneficial phyto nutrients and minerals that improve blood circulation to the brain. Next time you decide to pass on this veggie, give it a try and you might be surprised!

5. Asparagus

Asparagus, along with many other “super-greens” is rich in glutathione – a compound that works to break down harmful agents in your body like free radicals. It provides protection for the bones, breast, colon, and lungs. It also works as a detoxifying tool to rid your body of the unnatural and excessive toxins it may consume through eating food from restaurants and the local supermarket.
