It’s Smoothie Paradise at the Office this week!

 

We need water to live, and at Aquasana, we live for water.  From sparking to chilled, to room temperature, we have filtered water options at all turns.  We look for reasons to work water into what we are drinking and eating.  The best filtered water deserves the best kitchen appliances.  So we traded with our friends at Blendtec.  If you’ve never used a Blendtec, it’s the boss of blenders.  It’s what they use in our favorite smoothie store down the street.

Now that we have a Blendtec in our office, smoothie sales at our local spot will suffer.  High performance water needs a high performance blender. To help you power through your day, we’re sharing two of our favorite recipes.  These smoothie recipes are packed with healthy fruits and veggies, super easy to make and beyond tasty. These smoothies will help you beat the heat, satisfy sweet cravings, and are packed with nutrients that are healthy for you and your family.

Tropical Mango Coconut Smoothie

  • 1 cup frozen mango
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple
  • 1 cup vegan milk (we prefer unsweetened almond or coconut milk)
  • 1 cup filtered water
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons coconut flakes (unsweetened)

Put everything in the Blendtec and blend. Add more filtered water to meet your preferred consistency.

Top with shredded coconut flakes and chia seeds and enjoy!

To keep this smoothie as healthy as possible, we don’t add sugar or use sweetened milk. If you simply must add some sweetness to this smoothie, we recommend local honey.

Peaches and Cream Smoothie

  • 1 cup frozen peaches
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 an avocado
  • 1 ½ cups spinach (optional)
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 cup filtered water
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • ½ teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
  • ½ tablespoon of local, organic honey
  • 1 teaspoon raw almond slivers

Put everything except the raw almond slivers in the Blendtec and blend.

FullSizeRender-002 Add as much or as little filtered water for your desired consistency. For this smoothie, we added in some local, organic honey. This is the perfect “guilt-free” solution when your sweet tooth is calling. Top with chia seeds and some almond slivers and enjoy!

If you add the spinach, this one will turn out green (shocker!). If that scares you, nix the spinach, but we highly recommend keeping it in there as the sweetness from the other ingredients completely masks the spinach flavor. We should warn you, this will surely be your new favorite green drink!  Today we didn’t have fresh spinach in the office, but that’s what we love about smoothies – you can add or delete ingredients as desired and it still tastes great!
